Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

“Goodland Web Co.,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to Goodland Web Co., a web design studio based in Goleta, California. “You” or “Client” means the person or business engaging us. You can reach us at goodlandweb@gmail.com.

2. Services

We provide website design and development and related services, which may include: website builds (The Local, The Signature, The Flagship), one-time add-ons (logo design, social pages setup, interactive features, domain setup), ongoing plans (Care Plan, marketing plans), one-off updates, and hosting. The specific services, deliverables, and prices for your project are those shown on our site or agreed in writing.

The free consult is one complimentary 20-minute call per client/project. Further calls and ongoing communication happen as part of an active project or plan, or can be arranged.

3. Quotes, estimates & pricing

4. Payment & deposits

In short: a 50% deposit starts your project — refundable within 24 hours, then non-refundable; the balance is due by launch, and once paid in full there are no refunds.

5. Project process, timelines & revisions

6. Your content & responsibilities

7. Ownership & intellectual property

Once your project is paid in full, you own your website — the code, design, and content we create for you are yours. If you ever leave, you can request an export of your site files so you can host them elsewhere. Two notes:

8. Hosting

When we host your site, we do so as a service on our own infrastructure (for example, our Vercel account). Hosting a site for you does not change the fact that you own it. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free service, and we aren't responsible for outages caused by third-party providers. You may move your site to your own hosting at any time.

9. Domains

10. Care Plan

11. Yearly check-in & tune-up

Care Plan members who have been with us for six months or more receive a yearly check-in & tune-up. This is a once-per-year session that typically includes:

To make it useful, we'll ask you to confirm a time and share any access or context we need. The tune-up covers small fixes and recommendations; larger changes, redesigns, or new features identified during the check-in are quoted separately. The tune-up requires an active Care Plan; it ends if the plan is cancelled.

12. One-off updates

For sites we've built, you can request individual updates at the rates listed on our site, priced by effort. We may confirm scope before starting. Some updates have prerequisites — for example, a blog post requires a blog to be set up first (such as via Blog launchpad).

13. Marketing plans & analytics

14. Cancellations & refunds

15. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

Our services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim in the prior three months. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

16. Third-party services

We use reputable third parties to deliver our services (for example, Vercel for hosting, Calendly for scheduling, and a payment processor such as Stripe). Your use of those features may also be subject to their terms.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use of our services means you accept the changes.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any disputes will be handled in the courts located in California.
